| The Race Against Time is a cycling
endurance challenge for committed riders who want to do the ‘End
to End’ fully supported in less than a week (see
the 2008 route here).
In 2008 the ride will be six full days, with team members
riding a gruelling 145 miles a day.
The Race raises funds for HIV/AIDS work in
South Africa, particularly work with orphans and vulnerable
children. It is endorsed by news reader,
Jon Snow.
The name of the ride reflects the urgency with
which the HIV/AIDS problem in South Africa must be addressed –
both the needs of those already affected by the virus, and those
who can still protect themselves. |
